Beer brewed with love, to be consumed with care.
Real Beer from here
A refreshing, bright beer with a magnificent golden colour, Sezoens in a nutshell! With an alcohol content of 6 %, it is unlikely to go straight to your head, making it a beer that is easy to drink, preferably in good company. Sezoens is one of the lighter double fermented beers with a distinct hoppy character.

A refreshingly subtle balance between bitter and fruity. Sweet and malty in the mouth with a distinct hoppy finish.
The expert selection of aromatic hops and the dry-hopping process is what gives Sezoens its distinct hoppy and fruity nose.
No animal ingredients whatsoever are added at any stage of the production process, only water, the best malted barley and selected Tettnang hops.
Sezoens pairs beautifully with aromatic fish courses, and with flavoursome dishes as you would find in Asian cuisine.
At the end of the ageing process the hops are added one last time. Thanks to this finishing touch the aromas get a prominent spot in the flavour range of Sezoens.
Sezoens tastes best when served with a decent head in a cup-shaped glass: 2/3 golden brew, 1/3 head. Serve well chilled and savour in good company.
Sezoens has been brewed since 1867, using a natural process and nothing less than the finest malt. This possibly makes it the oldest dry-hopped beer in the world.
Frans Martens took over his parents’ brewery. Under his leadership, Brewery Martens experienced its first golden era. It is he who saw to the first upgrade of the brewery.
In 1867, Frans Martens began brewing Sezoens to a recipe he developed himself. Initially, it was brewed during the cold winter months and not drunk until summertime. Take a close look at the label and you’ll see how Old Man Winter hands over the new brew to the Summer Maiden.
Jan and Fons Martens, the eighth generation of brewers, have been at the helm of the Brewery since 1994. To them goes the credit for turning us into an international player and the second largest brewery in the country today.
Anno 2019, Sezoens is known as an ideal reception beer and as the beer from here. More than ever, it has become Brewery Martens’s flagship brew. And since we’ve been producing it for more than 150 years, to the very same recipe, it quite simply oozes our family history. We take great pride in the fact that today’s Sezoens still tastes the same as the one Frans Martens created 150 years ago.

Our glorious Sezoens route is a cycle route for gourmets, one that offers you an opportunity to savour the best the Limburg hinterland has to offer: wonderful cheeses, the renowned Achel Trappist and, of course, our very own Sezoens, which has almost become synonymous with the region.
Our 53 kilometre cycle route takes you along a host of stunning attractions (whether you’ve downed a Sezoens en route or not). You’ll pass the magnificent windmills in the Dommel Valley, get to defy the wind along the Kempisch Kanaal and to cycle past the listed, stately Teuten (pedlar, trader, merchant) homes in Sint-Huibrechts Lille. Ready to hit the road? Do download the route opposite, because the map comes with a voucher for a freshly pulled Sezoens in one of the many welcoming pubs on the route.

Brewery Martens has been in business for 260 years. Throughout our rich history, which remains embedded in our native town of Bocholt to this very day, the brewery has always remained in hands of the Martens family. Yet, while we put great store by our family history, all eight generations of the Martens family have also continuously been driven by innovation and state-of-the-art processes, which is what has made us into one of the most modern and innovative breweries in the country today.
